Deadhorse, Alaska–Family members have arrived in Alaska to help with the search for Steve Keel of Dover, who was last seen near Deadhorse on August 27 while on a hunting trip.
Liz Keel provided this update on her Facebook page Thursday: “They have ended the helicopter search and brought in a low flying plane to cover more area along with 2 research helicopters. Two of our sons have flown up to Alaska to search for their Dad. They arrived at Dead Horse at 7:30 this morning and are on the hunt site now searching as hard as they can Please pray for their safety and that Steve can hold on til they find him and bring him home ❤️ Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all your prayers and care. I am so humbled. Just keep praying.”
Keel, who is 61, arrived in Alaska August 20 on a caribou hunting trip and he walked away from his campsite to retrieve supplies and never returned. He and a friend were camping in a remote area in northern Alaska. They reportedly were storing the caribou they shot a quarter-mile away and Keel left the campsite to cut some meat and never returned.

He is missing off the Dalton Highway, south of Deadhorse. Deadhorse is a community near Prudhoe Bay.

Keel is a well-known electrician in Stewart County and an avid sportsman.
