Union City, Tenn.–The Masquerade Theatre in Union City has announced its 2023 season and it’s an ambitious one. The Wizard of Oz will be performed in March; High School Musical in June; Dearly Departed in August; The Lion King in October; Monstersongs in late October and Best Christmas Pageant Ever in December. Stay tuned for audition and ticket information throughout the year. The historic Capitol Theatre in downtown Union City has been the home of Masquerade Theatre since the mid-1990’s. With the purchase of the Capitol, Masquerade Theatre has not only kept a historic Northwest Tennessee cinema treasure operational but has also been able to impact the lives of numerous cast members and audiences. Operating as a nonprofit organization, we have relied on grants and donations to keep the lights on and pay for production costs such as set materials, costumes, scripts, and equipment. In addition, years of water damage and normal aging of the 96-year-old home to Masquerade Theatre has required us to repair structural damage to the front lobby, roofing, ceilings, brick facade, and more. Over $200,000 has already been spent on these critical repairs, but to complete the renovations, Masquerade Theatre is seeking to raise an additional $100,000. Please consider a gift today – all donations are 100% tax deductible and will not only help us keep the arts alive in Northwest Tennessee but will allow us to continue impacting the lives of those in our community for years to come. Donate via Paypal or Venmo or mail a check to: Masquerade Theatre, PO Box 1414, Union City, 38281. |
