BUCHANAN, Tenn. – Diann McGuire, litter grant coordinator of Keep Paris/Henry County Beautiful, was honored with Keep Tennessee Beautiful’s Love Where You Live Award. Keep Tennessee Beautiful Executive Director Missy Marshall made the presentation during the 2023 Keep Tennessee Beautiful Month and Great American Cleanup Kick-off event, held at The Lodge at Paris Landing State Park. John Deberry, senior advisor to Gov. Bill Lee, brought the keynote address at this year’s event, which marks the 40th Anniversary for Keep Tennessee Beautiful

McGuire is a champion of litter prevention and recycling in Paris/Henry Country, leading the county’s Keep Tennessee Beautiful affiliate organization as an anti-litter, pro-beautification advocate. McGuire’s successful achievements include leading community clean-up events, joining Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful organization as a litter clean-up partner, and championing Henry County’s robust recycle program and solid waste prevention efforts.

“Diann McGuire demonstrates what it means to love where you live,” Missy Marshall, executive director of Keep Tennessee Beautiful, said. “She leads by example, working tirelessly to keep Paris and Henry County beautiful, and always encouraging others to take pride in the community and to ‘love where they live.’ ”
Nominees for KTnB’s Love Where You Live Award were submitted from statewide Keep Tennessee Beautiful affiliates. Criteria required nominees be involved in projects, programs and leadership efforts that have impacted their community in a positive, unique way. All submissions included examples of how each leader went above and beyond their job description to help educate and inspire Tennesseans to take care of their community environment.

Keep Tennessee Beautiful Month and the Great American Cleanup help accomplish the mission of KTnB: to educate and inspire Tennesseans to take action every day to improve and beautify their community environment.
