
Murfreesboro, Tenn.–Two gold ball trophies will be coming home to our area after wins by the Westview Lady Chargers and the McKenzie Lady Rebels Saturday. Both won back-to-back State Championships.
The Westview Lady Chargers dominated McMinn Central in the Class 2A contest, 56-37. McCall Simms led the Lady Chargers with a 17 points in the title game, while MTSU Signee Jada Harrison added 17 points and 10 rebounds. Harrison was named Tournament MVP in post-game ceremonies. Jillan Brigance set a new tournament record for field goal percentage by making 11 of 12 shots throughout the tournament. Brigance, Simms, and Harrison were joined on the All-Tournament team by Mary Anna Chester. Westview finished the year with a 33-1 overall record.
