CAMDEN, Tenn. — Tennessee’s first Ducks Unlimited Greenwing Legacy plaque which honors 201 members, was installed at North Kentucky Lake Wildlife Management Area Complex. This remarkable achievement helps secure waterfowl conservation in Tennessee for future generations through a partnership with DU, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA).
A bronze plaque recognizing 201 Ducks Unlimited “legacy greenwing” members was unveiled on Saturday, March 25, at Camden Unit 2 on Kentucky Lake. Keynote speakers at the event included Ross Malone, Ducks Unlimited Volunteer, and Tennessee Youth & Education Chairman; Doug Schoenrock, DU Chairman of The Board; Mike Bell, TWRA Legislative Director; Joey Woodard, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Foundation Executive Director; Monte Belew, Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission (TFWC), and Patrick Lemons, TWRA Region 1 Program Manager.
Camden WMA was selected for the plaque because the WMA had just installed a new water control structure. DU, TWRA, and TVA partnered in building the new gravity flow structure to provide better water management over the 1,700 acres in the Camden Wildlife Management Area in Benton County. This project exemplifies the importance of the ongoing collaboration between DU, TWRA, and TVA for waterfowl habitat management.
