Paris, Tenn.–A Henry County man was arrested for making threats of mass violence against Henry County High School today and HCHS was on soft lockdown for a time.

Earlier today, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office receives a report of a potential threat situation involving the Henry County High School. School Resource Officers had received information of a non-student making threats to cause violence at the school by taking a firearm to the school and causing harm to specific persons.

Sheriff Josh Frey said in a press release, “School officials did enact safety protocols and law enforcement immediately conducted an investigation.”

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office did charge John Carter King, 18 years of age, with Threats of Mass Violence on School Property. Carter’s bond was set at $15,000 and is scheduled to appear in court on April 11.
