
, 78, longtime Paris resident, died Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at his residence in Dover, Tennessee.
Garry was born Wednesday, July 19, 1944, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late James Howard Hinson and the late Lucille DePriest Hinson.
He was the former owner of Dawndale Trucking in Paris. Tennessee. Garry began Eastside Enterprises in Paris in 1982 which later became Eastside Auto Repair until his retirement in 2010. He enjoyed fishing, driving his tractor and being outside. He loved the beach and spending time with family. Garry was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Sulphur Well Church of Christ.
He was married Saturday, June 26, 1965, to Bettye Gayle Hutson Hinson, who survives.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by one daughter: Pam (Doyle) Scarborough, of Dover, Tennessee; one son: Kerry (Jacqualine) Hinson, of Buchanan, Tennessee; one sister: Betty (Autry) Robinson, of Paris; four grandchildren: Zach (Ashley) Hinson, Shawn Ragan, Rachel (Thomas) Murphy, and Katie (Aaron) Wilkes; and five great-grandchildren, Alyssa Deeter, Addison Deeter, Avery Jack Hinson, Lakyn Murphy, and Raylie Kate Wilkes. Garry was also loved by many more in-laws and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister: Shirley Blaski and her daughter: Michelle.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, Tennessee. Visitation will be Sunday, April 16, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Randy Stephens officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Zach Hinson, Shawn Ragan, Joey Hutson, Tommy Hutson, Chip Hutson, Thomas Murphy, Aaron Wilkes, and Jordan Alton. Named as honorary pallbearers are members of the Buchanan High School Class of 1962.
Cremation will follow the service. The Hinson family would like friends and family to join them immediately following the service at the Owens Event Center at 20 Outback Dr, Paris, TN 38242 for a time of fellowship together.
