Paris, Tenn.–The second Patriot Mart and truck stop in Henry County moved one more step forward after the site plan for the proposed business was approved Thursday night by the Paris Municipal Regional Planning Commission.
Owner Jay Sukhadia has submitted a site plan for the proposed Patriot Express Mart at the corner of Hwy. 641S and Highway 218. Earthmoving work already has been ongoing at the site. Sukhadia has been sharing designs of the proposed new business on Facebook.
The proposed building is 6,240 sq. foot, with both exit and entrance from Hwy. 218.
Sukhadia has said previously the plans call for a convenience store and truck stop at that location.
Planners were provided with a complete set of plans, which also were submitted to local utilities and engineers.
Present at the meeting to answer questions were Sukhadia and Civil Engineer Nathan Grasfeder of the L.I. Smith agency. Grasfeder told planners that TDOT has approved a tentative permit. “They’s given their blessing” for the project, he said.
Planning Commission Member Tara Wilson told Sukhadia, “Thank you, Jay, for your continued investment in the community.” Acting Chairman Richard Edwards said, “I agree with that.”

The north end of the building will contain concessions for games, with the south end consisting of an indoor practice area for all sports.
The addition of the building will not increase enrollment of the school. With that in mind, parking was not reviewed since this will be a building only used by students and staff.
–The commission approved a site plan for Cornerstone Medical at the corner of Tyson Ave. and Cornerstone Dr. Cornerstone is proposing a 1,601 sq. ft. addition to the surgery cente building. The proposed addition will be utilized for storage and does not add space that would be used for patient care or office space.
–The commission gave approval for Castle Car Wash on Mineral Wells Ave. to demolish a portion of the existing structure to install eight vacuum bays. Community Development Director Jennifer Morris said due to fact this will not create a requirement for more parking or alter traffic flow, a complete site plan is not required.
