Dolly Wheelan, 65, of Dover, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023 at her residence.
She was born August 9, 1957, in Jacksonville, Florida, the beloved daughter of the late Shirley Thomas and Josephine Stephenson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister: Carolyn Powell.
Dolly was of the Baptist faith.
She was a member of the Iron Workers Local 387 as a certified welder in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dolly loved working in her flowers and gardening. In 1976, Dolly took part in a Bi-Centennial horse ride from Augusta, Georgia to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over 19 years, Mike Wheelan, of Dover, Tennessee; sons, Alton Roland and Aaron Rolland, both of Augusta, Georgia; step-son: Tom Wheelan, of Atlanta, Georgia; step-daughters: Hilary Remley, of Alexandria, Virginia, Suzy Wheelan, of Atlanta, Georgia; brothers: David White and Kenneth Reber, both of Augusta, South Carolina; and a number of grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at Thomas Poteet and Son Funeral Home, 214 Davis Rd, Augusta, Georgia, 30907.
