From the Paris Police Department:

On behalf of Chief Ricky Watson, we would like to welcome everyone to this  years World’s Biggest Fish Fry! This Friday will kick off with the Grand Parade taking place on East Wood Street. There are a few areas of concern that we need to address with the  community that directly affect safety and the smooth operation of the parade.

*Parking is allowed on the southside of the parade route from Tyson Ave east bound to  Fairgrounds Road beginning a Midnight (12:00am) before the parade.

*Please ensure that you do not block intersections or private drives and if you are leaving  your vehicle on the route place a note on the dash that is visible from the outside with your  phone number in case of any issues. We will attempt to call prior to removing the vehicle.

*No bikes, ATV’s, skateboards, skates, mini bikes, etc. on the parade route unless part of the  parade or authorized (i.e., Jaycees, EMS, Rescue Squad, and Law Enforcement)

* No pets of any kind allowed on the parade route unless part of the parade *No throwing of any items from the parade entrants, participants may walk out to the  spectators.

*No poppers or other types of fireworks allowed on the route

*When the parade ends make sure that all vehicles are moved. If left unattended in a traffic  lane, they will be towed.

*Vendors must have a permit and visibly display it to be on the route (Yellow ribbons) * Backpacks will be checked on the parade route for the safety of those in attendance *Parade entrants must have a valid driver’s license

We are committed to doing our part to keep everyone safe and help them enjoy this event  to the fullest. We would also like to thank the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Henry County  Sheriff’s office, Paris Fire department, Henry County Rescue Squad, Tennessee State Guard,  City of Paris Public Works, Henry County Emergency Medical Services, Martin Police  department, and Humboldt Police department for all their help during the parade, we truly  could not get it done without any of you. Finally, we thank everyone in the community for  their support and cooperation in making this year’s event one of the best ever!
