Milan, Tenn.–A Milan Police Detective suffered a fatal injury Wednesday and condolences are being shared with his family and the department from all over our area.
According to a press release from the Milan Police, Detective Lieutenant Kelvin Whitney was making repairs to his home and suffered a fatal injury.
First aid was administered to Lt. Whitney by officers from the Bradford Police Department until EMS arrived.
Lt Whitney was transported by Gibson County EMS to the Milan General emergency room where the staff worked on him tirelessly but were unable to revive him and he succumbed to his injuries.
Lieutenant Whitney served the Milan Police Department faithfully for 17 years and will be missed by all who have had the honor of working with him. Please keep his family and the men and women of MPD in your prayers. Arrangements will be made at a later date.
