Jackson, Tenn.–Henry County Emergency Management Agency Director Ron Watkins was awarded the Uniformed Hero of the Year Award at Wednesday’s Mid-West Tennessee Heroes Luncheon in Jackson.
Watkins has served as EMA Director for a number of years and has been in the forefront of several disaster situations in Henry County.
The Heroes Luncheon is sponsored by the American Red Cross and was held at Union University. In attendance with Watkins was his sister and niece, Sandy Gregory and Kayla Perry, and TEMA West TN Region Director Jane Waldrop.
Also in attendance with Watkins was Henry County Mayor John Penn Ridgeway, former County Mayor Brent Greer, Cathy Herrera, and Watkins’ sister and niece.
At the luncheon, Steve Bowers provided welcome remarks and the keynote address was given by Neil Brockway.
