Paris, Tenn.–City of Paris officials are warning the public about scam phone calls that have been using the phone numbers from City Hall and the Paris Fire Department.
City Manager Kim Foster said, “You likely have received all sorts of phone calls on your land line or cell phone from the City of Paris main phone number and/or Fire Department number. We urge you not to give personal information to these callers. The calls may range from extended car warranties, changes in health care plans, and debt collections.”
The City of Paris will never ask you to provide personal, banking, or sensitive information over the phone, she said. “Please do not follow any prompts like Press 1 or click any links.”
The Paris Police Department is aware of this issue and would like the residents to know that these scams are nearly impossible to track and prosecute the offenders.
