Union City, Tenn.–The annual end-of-the-year Math Olympics for Union City Middle School 5th and 6th graders showcased skills learned and retained from the 2022-23 school year.
A premium was put on speed, too, for correct answers, as students were tested in several rounds of math facts and practices to solve questions and problems in a specific amount of time.
UCMS teachers Emily Cross (5th) and Jennifer Bruff and Alicia Suiter (6th) presided over their respective grades. The top three students from each class were awarded spots in the grade level contest after preliminary contest rounds were held daily to determine those positions.
