Paris, Tenn.–Gennie Mewes and Wynter Dufrense place flags on Henry County veterans’ graves this weekend. Continuing the tradition, Scout Troops 28 and 3 were busy Saturday morning placing 370 flags at the graves of veteans in Maplewood Cemetery in Paris. The Scouts have been placing the flags on veterans’ graves every Saturday of the Memorial Day weekend for years. Matt Hayes of Troop 28 said, “No matter how many years we’re out here, it seems like we always find graves we didn’t have on our list. We’re glad to find as many as we can and honor them with the flags.” Shannon McFarlin photo.
