Paris, Tenn.–One of the inmates who escaped from the Henry Co. Jail is back in custody.
Sheriff Josh Frey told RadioNWTN that Joshua Harris was apprehended around 9:30 p.m. Monday night in the area of the Tackle Box on Hwy. 79N.
As we reported earlier this morning, Harris and fellow inmate Ronnie Sharp escaped from the jail together by prying through the cell ceiling, then prying open a skylight on the roof, Frey said.
Agencies involved in Harris’ arrest included the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshals Service, THP and the Stewart County Sheriff’s Office. Frey said there were probably 30 law enforcement officers at the scene.
Sharp is still at large and the search for him by the U.S. Marshals “is very active”, Frey said.
After Sharp and Harris escaped, they reportedly stole a truck from a location on Hwy. 69N and Frey said tonight that the truck has not been recovered.
Harris, age 40, was in jail on charges including evading arrest, theft of property and burglary.
Ronnie Sharp was in jail on numerous pending charges that include kidnapping, aggravated assault, assault on an officer, evading arrest, theft of property and burglary. Sharp is 48 years of age, 5 foot 11, 160 pounds with a last known address in Hazel, Ky.
The stolen truck is a 2006 white Chevy 3500 four door truck with a black dump bed.
Anyone with information on Sharp’s whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 642 1672.
