Paris, Tenn.–Even with dark clouds in the sky, Saturday was an especially happy day for Jasmine Allen and her family as they received the keys to their new home on Irvine Street in Paris. The home is the 21st house built by Henry County Habitat for Humanity and a large crowd turned out for the home dedication and ribbon-cutting. Associate Minister Troy Barrow of the First Christian Church presented the prayer and said he could feel the warmth of the people who came for the dedication. “You’re standing on Holy ground here. God’s work is being done here. God’s work is being turned into action.” (Jasmine Allen prepares to cut the ribbon to officially open her new home, while former Habitat Board Chair Jim Robertson looks on). Shannon McFarlin photo.
