Motorcycle Accident Claims Life Of Carroll County Man

A Carroll County man perished in a motorcycle accident which occurred around 8 p.m. Thursday, August 31.

First responders were called to 1658 Blaylock Store Rd. in Weakley County and McKenzie Fire & Rescue assisted with patient care and set up a landing zone for an Air Evac helicopter. He was airlifted to Baptist Memorial Hospital.

The accident claimed the life of Gary W. Wilson, age 37.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol report released this morning, he was driving a 2000 Harley-Davidson northbound on Blaylock Rd. when the motorcycle exited the roadway, striking a tree.

Funeral Services for Gary W. Wilson are Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Thursday, 10 a.m. until service time. Interment is at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery.

Mr. Wilson, 37 years old, died Thursday, Wednesday, August 31, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. He is a Welder and worked Construction for Adam Walker and was a member of OverFlow Church. He was born in McKenzie on August 18, 1986, to Paul Wilson and Merry Morris.

He is survived by his mother Merry, father Paul, and stepfather Danny Goodrum, three sisters Stephanie Campbell, Alicia (Jeremy) Woods and Angela Goodrum, fiancé Stephanie Hugueley, two sons Ryan Wilson and stepson Devon Wilson and stepdaughters Lydia Cooper, Gabby Webb, Izzy Webb.
