Jimmie Lee Hendrix

Jimmie Lee Hendrix, 76, of Paris, Tennessee, died Friday, October 20, 2023, at Murray Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Kentucky.

Jimmie was born Saturday, July 5, 1947, in Buena Vista, Tennessee, to the late Lee Duncan Hendrix and the late Mary Priestly Johnson Hendrix. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son: Kenneth Lee Hendrix; and one sister: Joy Anderson.

He retired after a long career from CSX Transportation where he worked as a conductor.  

He was a U.S. Marine veteran and a member of Point Pleasant Baptist Church in Buchanan, Tennessee.  

Jimmie was an avid hunter and fisherman.  

He loved his dogs and anything outdoors.  

He was a proud member of the Henry County Gun Club, a gun enthusiast, and loved to be on the shooting range.

He was married Saturday, August 26, 1989, to Vadean Laws Hendrix, who survives, of Paris, Tennessee.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by one sister: Jennifer (Allen) Espey, of Huntingdon, Tennessee; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; a special family that were like Jimmie’s children and grandson: Chris, Melissa, & Hunter Fletcher; and caregivers: Donna Boyd, Kelly Kissick, Donna Griffin, Monique Gray, and Shermaine Finch.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Rose Lawn Mausoleum Chapel, with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am at Rose Lawn Mausoleum Chapel with Chad Kennedy officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Espey, Will Espey, Chris Fletcher, Hunter Fletcher, Ricky McGee, and D.L. Johnson.

Entombment will follow the service in Rose Lawn Mausoleum in Paris, Tennessee.
