Martin, Tenn.–A 55-year-old Martin man has been arrested and charged with first degree murder and aggravated assault. Lawrence Rodriguez is being held in the Weakley County Detention Center.
At 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, Martin Police officers responded to $#5 Hillsboro St. in reference to an individual being shot. When they arrived, they found a 28-year-old male victim bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim was transported by ambulance directly to the Air Evac base in Martin and flown to Memphis. The victim later died of his injuries.
Martin Police issued active warrants on Rodriguez and found him a few hours later. With assistance of Sheriff Terry McDade and the Weakley County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Rodriguez without incident at a private residence on Sidonia Rd. around 9 p.m.
