Groundbreaking For New Graves Co. Courthouse Monday

Mayfield, Ky.–Groundbreaking for the new Graves County Courthouse will be held Monday, December 11.
The former courthouse was destroyed in the devastating 2021 tornado that also destroyed other government buildings, downtown businesses, homes and cost lives.
The Graves County Judge Executive’s Office has announced that a groundbreaking event has been scheduled for December 11th, 2023 at 2:30 PM (CST), at the site of the previous Graves County Courthouse, 101 East South Street, Mayfield.
Graves County resident Susan Scott Higdon will emcee the event. During the event, those that lost their lives during the December 10th, 2021 tornado will be honored. Details of the new Graves County Administrative Building will be discussed as well as a rendering will be unveiled, with a ceremonial groundbreaking to follow.
Everyone is invited to attend this event that will be held rain or shine. Light refreshments will also be available.
The Judge Executive said, “We are excited as we begin a new chapter for Graves County and would appreciate everyone in joining us on this historical day.”
