Buchanan, Tenn.–The driver was airlifted to an area hospital after his Jeep struck a house last night in Buchanan.

According to Paris Landing Fire Chief Reggie Coles, the Jeep came to a stop completely inside the residence, but luckily no one was home in the house.

At 6 pm Thursday night, the Paris Landing Volunteer Fire Department, Henry County EMS, Henry County Sheriff’s officers and Tennessee Highway Patrol were dispatched to 25 Upchurch Drive in Buchanan, on a report of a vehicle that had struck a house.

Coles told RadioNWTN that arriving fire units found a large hole in the carport wall of the residence with a red Jeep completely inside the residence.

The vehicle appeared to have left the road striking a utility pole before coming to a stop inside the residence.  The unidentified male driver was transported by EMS to Henry County Medical Center and later airlifted to another hospital.

His condition is unknown at this time.  No one was at home in the residence at the time of the incident.

Paris Landing Fire Dept had one truck and 7 firefighters on the scene for 4 hours.
