Dover, Tenn.–It took some creative thinking but Stewart County Sheriff Frankie Gray and his deputies finally nabbed the Grinch, who has been causing mischief for a couple of weeks now.
The Sheriff’s Office built a man size mouse trap and placed it in front of the well-decorated Good Samaritan Store and baited it with Christmas gifts. Knowing the Grinch could not resist a well-decorated business with gifts without anyone around. It wasn’t long before the Grinch was caught.
Deputies got him out of the trap and took him to jail.
He was not injured but was charged with several misdemeanor crimes. He will most likely be serving several months in jail but will be out before Christmas next year.
Gray said, “Folks we thank all of you who ask for visits from the Grinch and all of you who played along. We hope we brought smiles and laughter to everyone especially the children. Merry Christmas!!”
