Helping Hand Radio Auction Resumes, Grand Total Now At $51,269

Paris, Tenn.–A large crowd of volunteers and spectators were on hand for the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction today, as the auction resumed after being closed two days due to hazardous wintry conditions.

With several bids coming in over $100 today, a total $4,500 was raised, making the grand total raised so far at $51,269.

With some 170 items donated, there were 17 slates on auction today, donated by W.G. Rhea Library, L.I. Smith, Kroger, Henry Co. Prevention Coalition, the Jones Mill/Hico communities, Charter Senior Living and Henry County employees.

On Thursday, items will be donated by the Oakland community, Junior Livestock, Latter Day Saints, Master Gardeners. Auctioneer will be Noel Hatman.

On Friday, items will be donated by Central Point and Palestine communties, Bridge of Hope Church, Tennessee Valley High School Bass Club, Security Bank, White & Associates Wimberley Agency.

Helping Hand runs from January 8 through February 28 and raises thousands of dollars each year for over 90 non-profit and public service organizations. Last year was a banner year, with a record-setting $519,630 raised.
