Helping Hand Radio Auction Total Now At $196,525

Paris, Tenn.–Today was another big day for the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction, with $9,758 raised by First Christian Church, Habitat for Humanity and the Literacy Council, bringing the year-to-date total to $196, 525.

A large contingent was on hand from First Christian Church and they contributed to the grand total by serving lunch to everyone and with especially high bids . Jimmy Clendenin’s country ham biscuits went for $1500 and lunches with Rev. Caren Teichmann went for several hundred dollars.

Today’s auctioneer was Dr. Ray Compton, with the Athena Delphian club manning the phones.

Tuesday’s items will be donated by the Veterans’ organizations, VFW Post, Amvets Post, Darkhorse Lodge, American Legion and the Paris Elks. Wednesday’s items will be donated by Walmart, Covenant Ranch, New Wave Buddy Ball, Plus, and Tennessee Valley Board of Realtors.
Tuesday’s auctioneer will by Junior Staggs.

Helping Hand runs from January 8 through February 28 and raises thousands of dollars each year for over 90 non-profit and public service organizations. Last year was a banner year, with a record-setting $519,630 raised.
