Paris, Tenn.–ABLE Farms will hold a benefit breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, February 10 at the Enoch Building at the Henry County Fairgrounds. Tickets $10 in advance, $12 at door (kids five and under eat free).
ABLE Farms is the successor to the long-running organization Hoofbeats of Hope that was located in the Cottage Grove area. It has plans to be a therapeutic riding experience for kids and adults in Henry County and is located at 1100 Sulphur Well Academy Rd.
ABLE Farms’ goal for the spring of 2024 is to operate on a limited basis beginning with the riding program “ABLE Stables, Where Hoof Beats of Hope are Heard.” They are grateful to be able to stand on the shoulders of Hoof Beats of Hope, the community giant, and continue the good work that was started many years ago.
Mitzi the horse will be outside the Enoch Building Saturday and you can stop by and say hello on your way in to the benefit. You can also purchase a stick horse for $15 to remember your experience. (100% of stick horse purchases go to supporting ABLE Stables)
ABLE Farms began fundraising early in December 2023 with $15,000 given in matching gifts before the end of the year. In just over two weeks they had received over $17,000 and now the total is some $60,000.
ABLE Farms officials said, “We are humbled by your generosity and your belief in the vision of ABLE Farms to create a space of belonging, love, and equality for people of all abilities and backgrounds. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! We’re excited about the projects underway in 2024 and we look forward to sharing more specifics in the days ahead!”
ABLE Farms is designed around the innate ability of a horse to connect with both children & adults – especially those with special needs, disabilities, and those who have encountered trauma, abuse, or neglect. Such connection provides a unique & powerful context for healing, restoration & wholeness to begin.
“Will there be other food available with the pancakes?” You bet! They plan to offer sausage, eggs and fruit to go along with the pancakes. Milk, OJ, and Sweet Jordan’s coffee will also be included in your ticket.
Use the link on the ABLE Farms Facebook page to claim your ticket(s) for this event or buy them at Sweet Jordan’s in Paris.
