Judge Snyder, Williams Chosen For WestStar Leadership

Martin, Tenn.– Kidge Vicki Snyder and LaShonda Williams, both of Henry County, are participating in the University of Tennessee at Martin WestStar Leadership Program Class of 2024.

Judge Snyder is the General Sessions and Juvenile Court Judge for Henry County. She was an assistant district attorney for six years and assistant district public defender for 10 years for the 24th Judicial District as well as the general sessions and juvenile court judge for Henry County since May 2006. She has served as a representative on the Tennessee Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges and as president of the Executive Committee; She served as the West Tennessee Judge on the Tennessee Domestic Violence State Coordinating Council, as a member of Howell Edmunds Jackson Inns of Court, Henry County Literacy Board Member and a REAL Hope Youth Center Board member (also a founding board member.

Williams, who also serves Carroll County,  is the owner of Lakeway Nutrition. She serves as board chairman of the McKenzie Special School District, is a Henry County Chamber Board member, West Tennessee PBS Board member and Miss Tennessee Volunteer Pageant Board member and judges chairperson. She has served as Northwest Tennessee Head Start vice chair and chairperson, McKenzie Middle School Parent Advisory president and Community Pre-K Advisory Council member. She is a Leadership Henry County graduate. She has been the recipient of Small Business of the Year, recognized in the media for Black History Month.

Participants attend a series of sessions held through June focusing on topics such as economic development, public policy, education and technology. The program equips regional leaders with new skills and knowledge designed to impact the educational, economic and social development of West Tennessee.
