Union City, Tenn.–Today is the big day.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation will be opening the mainline of the future I-69 in Union City today. Crews will be in Obion County this morning to make the transition from both ends of the highway. TDOT Spokesperson Nichole Lawrence told RadioNWTN, “It will take most of the morning for crews to make the transition on both ends.”
The project is a long time coming and has taken several twists and turns over the years. The goal is for I-69 in Tennessee to connect to the future I-69 in Kentucky.
