
Milan, Tennessee–The Milan Police Department has honored officers who located a person involved in a house fire over the weekend and performed CPR before paramedics and EMTs arrived.
On Sunday, February 18th Milan Police officers responded to a house fire on Baird Street in Milan. Upon arrival, the officers observed large amounts of smoke coming from the residence.
Under the supervision of Sgt. Brian Bennett, Officers Travis Smith and Cory Damron entered the residence, enduring large amounts of smoke and heat and located the homeowner who was unresponsive. These officers removed the man from the house, placed him in the yard and began CPR until paramedics and EMTs arrived on the scene and took control of the first aid.
Today these officers were awarded the Milan Police Department Lifesaving Award which was presented to them by Chief Sellers.
