
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats returned to action Saturday and continued their
winning ways with a doubleheader sweep of visiting University of Michigan-Dearborn. The Cats
won 16-3 and 7-1.
Game one was career win No. 400 for Coach Rusty Thompson.
Big innings defined the day in both victories. An eight run first inning in game one and a seven
run fifth in game two were keys for the Cats.
Along with nine hits for Bethel, Dearborn committed five errors to aid the Wildcat cause.
Hot bats in the game driving in runs included: Jared Hall, Juan Diego Ramos, Ivan Vega, Noah
Foster (2), Zack Griffith (3), Adriel Vega (3), Cade Pilkinton
Pilkinton’s RBI was a result of a homer.
Tyler Proctor picked up the win.
Game two:
Ramos, Griffith (2), Noah Hawkins, Rivers Moffatt (3) drove in runs in game two.
The Wildcats drew 11 walks in the game, giving them 19 in the two games.
Luke Boswell went the distance allowing just five hits in the victory.
The squads play a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at noon.
The Wildcats moved to 12-2 on the season and 12-1 at home.
The Wolverines are 1-4 on the year.
Sharing the 400 th win with Coach Thompson was his brother Nick, who had been alongside as
an assistant coach.
