Orlando, Florida- The Henry County High School Madrigals brought home the gold–and more–from Orlando last week.
The Madrigals, under the direction of Deanna Cook, were in Orlando, March 21-25, where they competed in the WorldStrides Heritage Festival.
The Madrigals brought home the Gold Award (90-100 ratings from the judges), Outstanding Choral Group Award for earning the highest overall score (regardless of choral group type or classification), and invitations to both the prestigious Festival of Gold and the Carnegie Series festivals for next year.
Additionally, Dallas Craig was honored by adjudicators with the Maestro Award for his solo in one of three of the group’s performance selections.
The group enjoyed trips to Universal Orlando Resort theme parks and Cocoa Beach during their stay.
They will compete next at the Senior High Choral Performance Assessment in Germantown on April 3rd.
Their last annual event of the year will be held April 6, 2024 at Maplewood Baptist Church beginning at 6 pm. You can hear them perform their festival selections as well as individual performances from the Madrigals. Ticket prices include a dessert reception and are available from current Madrigals, My Favorite Things, and Moody Realty.
