Middle School Students Learn About Pathway Options

By Susan Burton, Henry County Schools Communications Director

Henry, TN – Middle school students enjoyed time with high school students learning about the different pathway course options they will have to choose from once they attend Henry County High School. Middle school students from Henry, Harrelson, and Lakewood visited tables set up in their school gym and staffed by high school students who are currently enrolled in the courses advertised at their booth. Seventh and eighth graders had the opportunity to ask questions to current seniors about the courses they would take in the pathway. They also had a chance to try some hands-on learning activities from the pathway booth, such as flying a drone or listening to their heartbeat.

Current high school students who are excelling in the fields of agriculture, marketing, foreign languages, welding, automotives, media and visual design, fine arts, cosmetology, criminal justice, teaching as a profession, health science, computer science and STEM, residential construction, family, career, and community leaders, and student ambassadors were ready to talk about their chosen pathway and the opportunities that will make learning meaningful for these future Patriots as they become college and career ready.
