Paris, Tenn.–This weekend is the third annual Eiffel Tower Classic, a time for pickleball, good times and Knott’s Foods. The tournament is organized by the Paris Pickleball Club, with tournament sponsor Knott’s Foods of Paris.
The tournament will be held May 2-4 at Eiffel Tower Park in Paris and the public is invited to both watch and enjoy the pickleball action and to enjoy what Knott’s Foods has to offer.
Pickleball Club spokesperson Marsha Banasiewicz said women’s and men’s singles rounds are played Friday, May 2, with women’s and men’s doubles May 3. The tournament closes out Sunday, May 4 with mixed doubles matches.
Matches will be played in a round-robin format on Eiffel Tower Park’s 10 pickleball courts and as it was last year, gold, silver, and bronze medals are awarded. Participation fee is $55. Visit tinyurl.com/EiffelTowerClassic for more info.
Banasiewicz said, “We love welcoming players and their families to a beautiful park where they can play pickleball in the shadow of our very own Eiffel Tower.”
The Paris Pickleball Club regularly supports local civic events and community service efforts. “It’s our pleasure to give back a portion of each tournament’s proceeds to the city,” Banasiewicz added. “In the past, those funds have helped improve lighting and install a sun cover for a part of the walkway.”
While players are serving up volleys, the weekend also will serve up delicious samples of snacks and dips, courtesy of tournament sponsor Knott’s Fine Foods, whose new mouth-watering Fried Pickle Dip is a crowd favorite — perfect for a day at the court.
Throughout the weekend, competitors and fans can enjoy plenty of free snacks and samples of Knott’s Foods famous pimento cheeses, fresh chicken salad, in addition to the tangy Fried Pickle Dip.
“We’re excited to once again partner with the Paris Pickleball Club for a hometown event that’s full of good food, great friends and friendly competition,” Chloe Knott, sales and marketing lead for Knott’s Foods, said. “Please come out and see us, May 2-4!”
