Tennessee Poison Hemlock Alert

poison-hemlock-3

From the Tennessee Department of Agriculture:
Poison Hemlock Alert – Tennessee
Poison Hemlock (Conium maculatum) is up and about to flower!
This highly toxic invasive plant is spreading fast across Tennessee roadsides, fields, and fence lines.
Every part of the plant is poisonous to humans and animals—just touching or inhaling particles while cutting can be dangerous.
Look for tall, hollow stems with PURPLE spots and small white flower clusters forming now.
Avoid contact and NEVER mow or burn it. If you suspect Poison Hemlock on your property, use gloves and consult your local extension office for safe removal options.
