Springville, Tenn.–An investigation is underway into the cause of a fire that destroyed an unoccupied structure in Springville Thursday afternoon.
Paris Landing Volunteer Fire Department Chief Reggie Coles said his department, the Paris Fire Department, Henry County EMS and Henry County deputies were dispatched to 175 Hilltop Dr. around 3:30 p.m. on a report of a structure fire.
Arriving units found the fully engulfed home already falling in. The empty structure was a total loss.
Owner Justin McBride of Union City was not there at the time and said he had recently purchased the home and was in the process of renovating it.
Damage is estimated at $85,000.
Coles said two Mansfield firefighters were nearby and came to assist, as well.
Paris Landing responded with four trucks, eight personnel and Paris responded with two trucks and four personnel.
