Paris, Tenn.–At a Thursday evening meeting, the Paris Municipal Regional Planning Commission approved a new site plan for the Circle K planned for the intersection of Hwy. 79S and Highway 218 and approved a plan for a commercial recreational facility for Bell Ave. in Paris.
Circle K Stores, Inc., is a national chain and in addition to gas stations, Circle K also sells a range of food products including breakfast, hot sandwiches, burgers, hot snacks, pizza, deli sandwiches and baked goods and sells a variety of drinks, such as coffee, Slushies and more.
The new site plan for the Circle K calls for changes in the development to be built on the property.
A representative of Colliers Engineering and Design of Brentwood (and Lansing, Mich.) was at the meeting to formally resubmit the site plan calling for the convenience store along with the 24-hour fuel station with a change in the size of the store from 5,200 square feet to 3,956 square feet, a 3,264 square foot fuel canopy with five fuel pumps and a 1,248 square foot canopy with three fuel pumps.
The city already approved annexation for the site.
City Community Development Director Jessica Crouch said the total land area for the proposed development is 4.61 acres and the site meets all zoning and setback requirements.
The commission also approved a site plan for a commercial recreational facility of a 5,226 square foot building. The plan was submitted by Jamison Townsend of Paris on behalf of RS Enterprises Ripley, LLC. The site was recently subdivided by Tim Wirgau in January of 2025.
The proposed development consists of a commercial recreational facility with seven parking stalls, one of which will be handicapped accessible. The total land area is 0.381 and Crouch said the site meets all zoning and setback requirements.
The development abuts a residential zoned property (R-1M) that requires screening at the discretion of the planning commission. Under a Paris Municipal Code ordinance, a long list of screening options are available, including walls, fences, landscaping, etc.
