Buchanan, Tenn.–At 3:44 am this morning Paris Landing Fire Dept along with Henry County Sheriff’s officers, Paris Fire Department and the Paris Board of Public Utilities were dispatched to 705 Cypress Road in Buchanan for a report of smoke in the house and a possible electrical fire.  Paris Landing Fire Chief Reggie Coles said, “On arrival the owner, Wanda Wheeler stated that her bathroom exhaust fan had caught fire the previous day and they had extinguished the fire and removed the fan.  During the night they smelled smoke and called 911.  Firefighters discovered fire smouldering in the attic above the bathroom.  The ceiling was removed and the fire extinguished.”

Fire and water damage were limited to the bathroom, while the entire structure suffered smoke damage.  Damage is estimated at $10,000.00.  She said she has no insurance.   The Red Cross has been notified.   Anyone who would like to help Mrs. Wheeler may contact Haley Bryant at 731-333-7623.  Paris Landing responded with 3 trucks and 6 personnel.  Paris Fire Dept sent 1 truck with 2 personnel.  Units were on the scene for 1 hour.
