TCAT Henry/Carroll Grads Set To Begin Careers

welding-grads

Paris, Tenn.–Eight of these twelve outstanding graduates first discovered their passion for welding through dual enrollment at Henry County High School, where they trained under the guidance of Instructor Chewy Jackson. And now the group has earned their certification and are beginning their careers with union trades.

That early experience gave them a strong foundation of skills and discipline that prepared them for success at the next level.

Currently, these students continue their training at TCAT Henry/Carroll in Paris under Instructor Ben Bomar, who has helped them sharpen their abilities and push them to new heights.

This summer, they were invited to attend a three-week supplemental welding workshop at Boilermaker Local 455 in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. The opportunity allowed them to work alongside seasoned professionals, gain valuable hands-on experience, and push themselves in a real-world setting.

At the end of the workshop, the students faced one of the most demanding skill assessments in the trade, the 6G (45-degree) Gas Tungsten Arc Welding test. This test requires precision, focus, and exceptional technical ability, as welders must perform on pipe in multiple positions.

TCAT is announcing that eight of the twelve passed this difficult test, officially earning their certification as tube welders. This accomplishment not only demonstrates their high level of skill but also positions them for strong, successful careers in the welding industry.

Starting in September, these students will begin their careers with the Union trades, carrying with them the knowledge, work ethic, and confidence gained through both their high school dual enrollment program and their training at TCAT.

All twelve of these individuals will graduate from TCAT Henry/Carroll next week, and we could not be prouder of the determination, talent, and commitment they have shown. Their success is a great example of what’s possible when hard work meets opportunity.

The TCAT Henry/Carroll (Paris Campus) Summer 2025 Graduation is set for Tuesday, August 26th at 6:00pm located at Krider Performing Arts Center.
