Paris, Tenn.–The Paris-Henry County Rescue Squad received a check for $53,672 at last week’s Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office conference in Martin. Stacey Duncan accepted the check on behalf of the Rescue Squad. The grant money from the state will go toward purchase of new equipment and gear for the squad, including swift water rescue gear and replacement of extrication tools. Duncan said, “We’re extremely grateful to receive this money.” Henry County Mayor Randy Geiger was also on hand for the presentation, along with State Sen. John Stevens and State Rep. Tandy Darby.
At the event, the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office team presented checks for nearly $1.5 million in grants across 37 Volunteer Fire Departments and rescue squads. Thanks to all the volunteers, elected officials, and supporters who helped make the event so memorable. To see and download all the photos, visit: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjCs1QD
