Joseph “Joey” Alan West, Jr., age 47, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. His funeral is planned for 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at McEvoy Funeral Home, conducted by Robert Poglitsch of Open Doors Community Church. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are, Christian West, Josh West, Chris Hill, Matt Connelly, Jake Connelly, and Michael Decker; with honorary pallbearers, DJ West, Andrew Nickell, Kris Babb, and Kelsoe Baker.
Visitation is scheduled on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. and again on Wednesday after 11:00 A.M. until time of service.
Joey was born March 8, 1978 in Fresno, California to Joe West, Sr. and Donna Beatrez West, both of Paris. He married the love of his life, Wendy Jensen West, on March 6, 1998 and she survives in Paris. Joey also leaves behind his daughter, Brooklin West; sons, DJ West and Christian West, all of Paris; brother, Josh (Alyssa) West of Columbia, Tennessee; his wife’s parents, Genie (Barry) Williams and Dave Jensen; nieces/nephews, Jadon West, Jolyn West, Allie Nickell, and Andrew (Kaidence) Nickell; also survived by extra daughter, Alaina Wood, other family members and friends.
Joey attended Bridge of Hope Church in Paris. He was a truck driver for over 20 years, and was driving for Tosh Farms until he became disabled. He enjoyed long road trips, geocaching, and especially spending quality time with his family.
