Sharon Katzberg Jones, age 77, of Paris, Tennessee, passed away Friday, October 10, 2025, at her residence after a courageous 5 year battle with cancer. Her body is to be cremated and no services are planned at this time.
Sharon was born January 22, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Henry “Hank” Katzberg and the late Una Bridget Culligan Katzberg. She married Neil “Bud” Jones on May 6, 1977 and he preceded her in death on June 21, 2024. She is survived by her daughters, Teri (Randy) Thompson of Paris, KLaRae Whiting of Oakbrook, Illinois, and Lynette (Craig) Stewart of Gilbert, Arizona; grandchildren, Liam Stewart, Jimmy Whiting, Sara Whiting, Jessica Whiting, Brianna Thompson, Mary Whiting, Cameron Stewart, Logan Thompson, and Tommy Whiting; great-grandchildren, Bryson Dean, Briley Dean, and Octavia Stewart; sisters, Mary Worth, Barbara Bibly, Ann Labarge, Audrey Gilbert; brother, Edward (Candi) Katzberg; also by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Sharon is also preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Dean; sisters, Karen O’Malley and Linda Davidenko; and brother, Alva Settle.
Ms. Jones was a Catholic by faith. She worked and retired with 20 years of service as grounds keeper for Park Village apartments and formerly worked as a vet tech in Tuscola, Illinois. Sharon was well known for her great love of animals. She enjoyed crafts. spending time with her kids and most especially loved time with her grandchildren.
