
Paris, Tenn.–Meeting in busy session Monday night, the Henry County Commission appointed a new General Sessions/Juvenile Court Judge and a new District 4 Commissioner.
Chad Cox is the new Judge, effective February 2 to fill the unexpired term of Judge Vicki Snyder, who announced her retirement recently. The judgeship will be open for election again at the next countywide general election in August of 2026. Cox attended the meeting with his wife, Maria, and his parents. He thanked the commissioners and said he was honored by the appointment.
Long-time Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy James Higgins was appointed as District 4 Commissioner to replace Dell Carter, who retired from the commission for health reasons. Higgins was sworn in by County Clerk Donna Craig.
Higgins’ term begins immediately. The position will be open for election again at the next countywide general election to be held in August of 2026.
