Henry County 911 Seeking Community Help to Locate AED Devices

hc-911

The Henry County 911 Director Mark Archer is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the locations of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) throughout the county.

In a medical emergency involving cardiac arrest, quick access to an AED can make the difference between life and death. Knowing where these life-saving devices are located allows dispatchers to direct help to the nearest available AED while our first responders are on their way.

We want to build a community-wide database of AED locations so that our dispatchers can direct bystanders or responders to the nearest AED.  Having this information ahead of time could save valuable minutes and save lives.

Henry County 911 is asking local businesses, schools, churches, government buildings, and community organizations to provide the following information about any AEDs they have on site:

  • Business/Organization Name
  • Address and Location in the structure of the AED
  • Contact Person and Phone Number (for access if the building is locked or after hours)

This information will be used solely for emergency response purposes.

To register your AED or provide information, please contact Henry County 911 by emailing mark.archer@henryco911tn.gov or calling (731)642-0911
