Dukedom, Tenn.–Several fire departments battled a house fire in the Dukedom area Sunday afternoon. The family is safe, but their home was destroyed.
The Latham–Dukedom Fire Department responded to a structure fire on State Line Road in the Dukedom area. They were on scene within 11 minutes with nine personnel, 2 engines, 1 brush truck, and 2 tankers.
Crews made a quick interior attack, but the fire had already spread into the attic, making it difficult to fight. Firefighters remained on scene for about 2 hours and 15 minutes to bring the fire under control.
Firefighters said, “We sincerely thank Palmersville Fire, South Fulton Fire, Cuba (KY) Fire, 911 Dispatch, the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department, Weakley County EMS, and the electric company for their assistance. Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers as they recover from this fire.”
