
If you are coming to the courthouse in Stewart County you might want to leave your illegal drugs at home.
A driver and passenger were arrested on drug charges in the Stewart County Courthouse parking lot after meth and drug paraphernalia was found in their vehicle.
On Tuesday November 18th, Investigator Aaron Page was entering the courthouse when he noticed a man sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot with expired tags. Investigator Page went into the courthouse and handled his court cases. When he came back out the man was still sitting in the vehicle.
Investigator Page stopped to give the man a friendly reminder about his expired tags. While talking to the man he noticed he was very nervous and suspicious. He ran the tags not only were they expired but they also belonged to another vehicle.
The driver refused consent and a K-9 was called. Lt. MacDonald arrived and deployed K-9 Harry and he gave a positive response to drugs in the vehicle. Meth and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle. The driver and passenger who was in court with a friend was arrested. Arrested was Michael Vogel, age 32, of Cumberland City; and Jedidiah Ward, age 29 of Erin.
