Four Union City seniors have been selected to participate in the 15th annual Sports Plus West Tennessee All-Star Football Game.

Deyton Buckley, Adrian Crawford, Andre Small, and Cohen Wood were chosen to play in the contest that will be held Saturday, Dec. 13, at Crockett County High School.

Each of the Tornado honorees was a two-way player for the Purple and Gold in their final prep season.

Buckley led UC in total tackles from his middle linebacker spot and was also a mainstay on the offensive line. He finished with 72 stops and came up with a pair of turnovers.

Crawford was the Twisters’ most dynamic and versatile offensive playmaker, spending time at running back, quarterback, and receiver.

He rushed for a team-best 653 yards and was Union City’s top scorer with eight touchdowns and 48 total points. A five-time state track champion, Crawford completed half of his 10 passes for 86 yards and a TD and also had four catches for 93 yards and a score.

Defensively, he had 25 tackles, a team-high three forced fumbles, and an interception from his secondary post.

Small gutted his way through several injuries to finish second on the team in rushing (425 yards) at running back. He ranked number three on the tackle chart with 49 total stops as a hard-hitting defensive back.

Wood was UC’s most productive defensive player, leading the unit in sacks (6) and tackles for lost yards while finishing second in overall stops with 52.

Offensively, he spent the bulk of his time as a starting lineman, though he also lined up as an H-back and tight-end.

The All-Star roster will be divided into teams from the North and South through a draft held the week prior to the game. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
