Members of the Union City High School volleyball squad were honored at a team dinner Thursday night in the school’s Commons Area.
Team accomplishments were recognized by head coach Jessica Graham, who led the program to its second straight state tournament trip and fourth in the 14-year history of the sport at the school.
Union City won a school record 24 matches during the 2025 campaign, led by a strong eight-member senior class.
Each player on the team received a plaque commemorating the season, with the seniors also given a special gift. Graham and assistant coaches Eddie Suiter and Abby Suiter were presented with a framed keepsake of the season by the players’ parents.
Keeping with her past practice, Graham – the winningest coach in program history – did not present individual awards. She instead gave a passionate speech acknowledging the program’s current state, thanking the seniors, and insisting the future was bright after a solid jayvee season.
The team’s seniors included Madie Theobald, Gracie Sims, Ca’Lae Ervin, Clare Atwill, Crickett Washburn, Addison Carr, Madison Hillin, and Kumya Liphford.
Gracie Sims set a single-season school mark for kills, while Madie Theobald did the same for assists to account for team individual highlights.
