Explore Earthquakes & Volcanoes At Discovery Park

dpa-earthquakes

Discovery Park kicks off the 2026 Homeschool season on Tuesday, Jan. 13, with a hands-on exploration of the Ring of Fire—the line of volcanoes and earthquake-prone tectonic areas lining the Pacific Ocean. New for 2026, Homeschool Days now offer two convenient session options: morning (9 a.m. to noon) and afternoon (1-4 p.m.).

Students will be grouped by age (6-8, 9-11, 12-17) for developmentally appropriate activities exploring the powerful forces behind earthquakes, volcanoes and tsunamis. From volcanic activity and world maps to plate tectonics and mountain formation, each age group will dive into the geology shaping our planet.

Member students pay just $7 with early bird registration (closes Jan. 13) or $17 regular rate. Non-member students are $17 early bird or $27 regular. Parent/guardian admission is $12 to explore the museum while students are in sessions.

Register online by age group and session time. Questions? Contact our education department at 731-599-1115 or education@discoveryparkofamerica.com.

Tuesday, Jan. 13 | 9 a.m. to noon or 1-4 p.m.
