
Paris, Tenn.–Numerous petitions for county offices were picked up Friday at the Henry County Elections Commission, the first day petitions for candidacy could be picked up. Several candidates have also filed paperwork to proceed with campaigning.
Qualifying deadline is March 10 at noon for the August 6 election.
Local offices that will be on the ballot include: County Mayor, County Commissioners, Sheriff, Circuit Court Clerk, County Clerk, Register of Deeds, General Sessions Judge, Road Board Commissioners for District 1,3,4, & 5; Constable for District 1,5; County School Board Districts 2&4; Paris Special School Board (three seats); and State Executive Committeeman and woman.
According to the Elections Commission, the following filed paperwork to proceed with campaigning:
Henry County Mayor: David Webb
General Sessions Judge: Chad Cox
County Commissioner District 3: Carter Mahan, Monte Starks (incumbent), Todd Wright
County Commissioner District 4: James Higgins (incumbent)
County Commissioner District 2: Eric Walker
The following persons picked up petitions for local office Friday:
Henry County Mayor: Jonathan Lodge.
County Commission, District 1: David Flowers (incumbent).
County Commission, District 2: Eric J. Walker.
General Sessions Judge: Shon Johnson.
Circuit Court Clerk: Mike Wilson (incumbent).
Trustee: Randi French (incumbent).
County Clerk: Donna Craig (incumbent).
Register of Deeds: Pam Martin (incumbent).
Republican State Executive Committee, Tess Robbins.
