The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest is proud to announce that its Practical Nursing program achieved an impressive 93% first-time NCLEX pass rate in 2025, surpassing Tennessee Board of Nursing benchmarks for the third consecutive year.
Enrollment is open at the following locations: Bells, Covington, Newbern, Ripley, and Union City.
This outstanding achievement reflects the dedication, perseverance, and hard work of our students, as well as the exceptional faculty who guide them every step of the way. Under the leadership of Erika Smith, Director of Nursing and Allied Health, the program continues to grow by aligning workforce needs and preparing students for success in today’s nursing profession.
“This accomplishment belongs to our students and faculty. Our instructors pour into these students day in and day out, challenging them, supporting them, and holding them to high standards. As a leader, my role is to support that work and ensure they have the tools, resources, and environment they need to be successful. It’s incredibly rewarding to see our graduates working in the field and many going on to achieve great things through advanced education, leadership roles, and professional recognition. The results speak for themselves,” said Smith.
TCAT Northwest offers eight programs, both day and evening, in Practical Nursing to accommodate the schedules of today’s students. Following successful completion of the PN program, graduates will take a nationally standardized exam, the NCLEX-PN, leading to licensure as a licensed practical nurse, LPN. Enrollment is open at the following locations: Bells, Covington, Newbern, Ripley, and Union City.
